Sandeep Sikka is a LEED accredited professional and a historic preservation architect licensed in the State of New York, He has been involved in the design of new buildings, preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, and conservation of several historic structures in India, UK, and the USA. For Architectural Preservation Studio, Mr. Sikka has led several exterior-envelope restoration projects of contemporary and historic buildings. His work included leak investigation and design for leak remediation, extensive façade repairs to terra cotta, concrete, brick and stone masonry, restoration of historic cast stone and bronze, as well as repair and replacement of windows, curtain-walls, roofing systems, plazas, parking garages, sidewalks, and associated waterproofing and drainage systems. He also has extensive experience in the preparation of National Register Applications and Historic Structures Reports.

Mr. Sikka contributes by providing technical and scientific support for sustainable solutions and recommendations for historic and contemporary buildings and sites. With a background in the conservation science of building materials, Mr. Sikka is capable of analyzing building’s materials and their deterioration in various environments and has successfully developed appropriate treatments for their long-term preservation. He has extensive experience in the application of inorganic consolidants for the conservation of historic stone façades and decorative artwork made of limestone or marble.

He is an expert member of the International Scientific Committee for Stone. ICOMOS ISCS and is an elected member to the Board of International Scientific Committee on Earthen Architectural Heritage. ICOMOS ISCEAH. He is unanimously elected to the advisory council of the New York Landmarks Conservancy. He has presented and published articles on Climate Change and its impact on historic structures, Recording Historic Structures, Consolidation of stone, plasters, and mortars, seismic retrofits, and sustainable conservation techniques for the historic earthen structures at various international forums.
